Tokian

Tokian is the official language of Tarati and the language of the toki.

Dialect

Tokian is spoken by all tokis, but nobody can quite agree on the exact pronunciation of words or placement of syllables. Every tribe has a unique way of speaking, making inter-tribal communication challenging but not impossible. Snow Toki are known for adding extra syllables at the end of each word, which is frustrating for Jungle Toki.

Phonetics

Tokian has some additional sounds in the alphabet. The throat hiss is written as hh and sounds like a throaty gargling hiss. The tooth hiss is written as ss and sounds like air rushing between clenched teeth.
