The Jungle Zone is the largest biome on Tarati. It is used to describe the areas outside of the Alpine Zone.
The Jungle Zone can be further subdivided into several sub-biomes:
Taiga Forest
A tree-covered area bordering the Alpine Zone.
Frozen Swamp
High-altitude swamp bordering the Alpine Zone. Freezes over in the winter.
Temperate Forest
Jungle-covered area spanning between the colder boreal forests and the hotter tropical rainforests.
Freshwater Swamp
Wetlands area located around rivers.
Tropical Rainforest
A hot, moist jungle located near Tarati's equator.
Saltwater Swamp
Wetlands area near the equator where the rivers end in large basins. The water here is slightly saline, but not as salty as seawater.
Night Swamp
Thick trees block out all sunlight in this type of swamp, creating permanent nightfall.
Volcanic Swamp
A hot, steamy swamp formed from volcanic mud.
